I finally saw Pedro Almodovar's most popular movie, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and it's truly a riot of a film! I can't believe this movie was made in 1988, during my freshman year in college! Unbelievable! I have since become a big fan of Almodovar's films so when I saw this DVD on sale in HK, I immediately snapped it up. Again, women play a central role in this movie, and all of them are freakin' neurotic - and fun to watch!
Antonio Banderas is very handsome here! No wonder Madonna fell in love with him. He's infernally cute and kissable here!
I am currently a fan of this French show Fais Pa Ci Fais Pa Ca and one of the reasons I love it is the character played by Isabel Gelinas. She plays Valerie Bouley, a married woman who has one daughter but her Dad and Valerie are already separated at this point. She does a lot of pretty crazy stuff in the series - as her character is a bit neurotic and is afraid that she's losing her beauty.

It's rare that I feature a Nat Geo show journalist but Conor Woodman is doing an interesting job where he's trying to uncover the scams that tourists are subjected to in cities that they visit. His discovery of the scams in Bangkok were spot on while those of Delhi were pretty interesting!! I mean, he was officially dead and set to earn millions of dollars as insurance scam!!
Excited to find out where he's going next!
I was watching this movie in Diva Universal last night and they were previewing this new show about three brothers, who were all cops, and their sister. All the three actors who play brothers are hot hot hot!! I don't even remember the title of the show. All I remember is that it's a cop show and one of the brothers there is Travis Milne! Definitely a series I'll be watching these next few weeks!
I was watching an episode of HBOs How to Make it in America tonight and a new character caught my eye. The actor's name is James Ransone and in tonight's episode, he does the shrooms with Lake Bell and they were so hilarious together while they were so high! I don't know though how his character plays out as the season continues.
I was watching this tearjerker of a movie in the Velvet channel, Listen to Your Heart, this afternoon and I loved it! One of the reasons that movie worked is because of the charming Ken Moran! He's cute and he can sing and he has those puppy eyes which are perfect for tearjerkers like this movie!
This is the first time I've heard of Alexia Rasmussen and I'm not even sure if she's really deaf, but she did a fantastic portrayal in the movie Listen to Your Heart. I was actually just channel surfing when I chanced upon the movie in the Velvet channel. Alexia was charming and sweet and smart in that movie - and trusting too - and really, it was heartbreaking to watch - because the lead couple, Alexia and Ken Moran looked really great together!
In the video of her megahit, Call Me Maybe, Carly Rae Jepsen, never gets to kiss the boy. However, in the video for her latest hit, Tonight I'm Getting Over Your, she does get to kiss the boy - finally! And the lucky guy is Brandon Gray, who's a professional model.
I just find Ernie Halvorsen, 1/2 of the winning Ernie and Cindy team of Amazing Race 19, really CUTE! I just love the way he smiles and talks and he's not really drop dead gorgeous but I find him really fine! I'm really happy they won that edition of the race!
Amazing Race 19 had reruns in AXN for the past two weeks and I really enjoyed this season! Probably one of the most memorable and exciting among the 22 editions of this reality show. I wish they would sell online each season, I would definitely buy ALL of them!

Channel surfing on TV can be fun sometime especially if you chance upon a movie or a show that touches you directly in the heart! Listen to Your Heart is one of the movies that fits that bill. I couldn't believe I was crying in some scenes of the movie! And the plot was actually even generic - deaf woman and musician boyfriend, bitchy mother who breaks them apart, musician boyfriend dies of cancer - melodrama at its best - but still very touching since you really keep rooting for the deaf woman.
