Movie Review: Silly and Serviceably Funny Bromance

Laura insisted on watching a movie today and the movie she chose was Bromance, a local Tagalog movie starring Zanjoe Marudo.  I told her that the movie was going to be in Tagalog but it didn't really bother her or Dylan since they can just be like sponges anyway when they watch anything, at their young age.  Oh, the movie was PG-13 and there were kids inside as well.

It was a good thing that Zanjoe did the gay character in the movie in serviceable acting and not the irritating way that most other straight actors do it - enough for one to differentiate the straight Zanjoe character from the gay one.

There were several things that I liked in the movie.  First was the presence of some really good comediennes like Joy Viado who was hilarious as the older woman who wanted Zanjoe's body and hand in marriage.  I also like Boom Labrusca and Manuel Chua as Zanjoe's sidekicks.  They were hot hot hot!!   There was also another hot guy, Zanjoe's gay character's boyfriend but I haven't searched for his name though.  And Cristine Reyes pala can do comedy! She has the innate timing for it!  Well, some of the jokes worked and some didn't but it was fine, comedy is never really easy. Well, thank God I didn't have to suffer through another boring Tagalog movie.  At least this one had some funny moments.
