I have just started reading The Raging Sea by Dennis Powers, a tome which presents both the scientific and the human interest side of the tsunami that hit Alaska and the west coast of the United States in the 60s. You can really see the difference between how news travels those days and how the world immediately learned about the Japan tsunami last year - beaming photos at almost the same time the tsunami occurred!
However, whether it be the 60s or now, the effects of the tsunami are just as devastating! Interesting read!
