Rose McGowan, whom I last saw as a witch in Conan the Barbarian, played a great part here as the abused wife in The Pastor's Wife. The movie starts quietly and slowly then the 'real' story comes out and that's where it becomes interesting. The guy who plays the husband, Michael Shanks, is such a hunky daddy - and he has to be since the pastor has to come out clean and good - hiding all the spousal abuse that this movie is about. I was actually surprised to see how good Rose was here. In Charmed, she seemed like just one of those quirky actresses but to see her pull off this performance, whew, it was such a joy to watch!
