Masarap Pala sa Recipes, Affordable Pa

I always pass the Recipes restaurant in Trinoma everyday since it's on my way to the gym but since the resto looks so simple and nondescript, it never really piqued my interest to try and eat there.

However, thanks to Tin and Tope, my Body Jam instructor-friends, they introduced me to the place when they ate there two weekends ago.  And voila, I discovered a new restaurant na masarap na ang food and reasonable pa the price!

I love the baguio beans and their lechon kawali and their beef steak Tagalog!  Kasi di naman siya super mahal, ayun, baka madadalas ako dito, if I can find a table, kasi punuan siya palagi e!

Delicious Peking Duck at Golden Leaf Hong Kong Fine Dining Restaurant

My friends and I had our Christmas party and birthday dinner for our friends Grace and Myriam at the Golden Leaf Fine Dining Restaurant in Roces Avenue, almost in front of KFC.  My friend Baby chose a set menu where we had Peking duck and a host of other food.  We ate a lot ha!  This was the duck that we ate and it was delicious!  We also had crabs and shrimps and we even had soup and cold cuts and buchi and gelo, it was really a full meal!  We paid 750 pesos each which I think was worth it.  I did eat a lot of rice which I found delicious as well kasi para siyang modified Yang Chow rice! Sulit naman ang food!

Restaurant Review: Saint Alp's Tea House

While we were waiting for Laura and Dylan's choral recitation today, Vic and I decided to eat at this restaurant in Katipunan called Saint Alp's Tea House.  We decided to eat in a new place since we were familiar already with the food of the other restos in the building.  Anyway, I found the items a bit pricey.  We paid around 600++ for food and tea - something which an ordinary college student, I think, would not be able to afford.

I ordered the Taiwanese marinated minced pork and for its size, I think it was pricey too and I didn't quite warm up to its Taiwanese timplada.  Ditto for the Oreo Milk Tea I ordered.  I found it too bland because I normally prefer it really sweet.  However, the place has a very laidback and cool ambience so it's really the perfect place to just chill while you're waiting for someone.  Maybe I should try something else on my next visit.

Another Barkada Birthday Bash at Omakase

I am quite lucky that my Fitness First ABS-CBN barkada loves to eat out as part of our birthday rotation treat to each one in the group.  This time, to celebrate the birthdays of the mag-ina Jen and Baby, the two chose the Japanese restaurant in Il Terazzo, Omakase.  This was the first time I ate in the place and the food was at par with my other favorite Japanese restaurants.  Malambot and masarap yung salmon sashimi nila and the chicken teriyaki was also ok.  The price is also reasonable so pwede siyang ulit-ulitin.

Sunday Family Dinner at Cerchio

Cerchio has suddenly become our restaurant du jour nowadays.  However, we've never eaten here for our Sunday family dinners so it was great that we finally did tonight!  I am beginning to pick the food that I really like from them.  The pomelo salad, the ribs, the peri-peri chicken would be my top three picks - and we ate all of them tonight, plus two more viands - the pork liempo (the meat was not tender) and the sashimi  which I'm not sure if it was fish or meat haha!

Desserts to Die For at Park Avenue Desserts

Don't be fooled by the name.  This petit cafe also serves food as my friends and I ordered an assortment of pastas and salads to fill us up before samba dancing!  Conveniently located at the Paseo de Magallanes, it is well, a bit far for Quezon City residents like me, but the food and especially the desserts are to die for!  They are just incredibly scrumptious!  For a dessert freak like me, it was certainly a heavenly experience tasting the apple pie, the brownie and another pie whose name escapes me now.  Everything just melted in my mouth and sent me to sugary heaven!  I am definitely coming back since I want to sample more of their desserts!

Exciting Samba Dancing at Martini's Bar at the Mandarin Oriental Makati

Unfortunately, I have no pictures to prove it, but my friends and I had a great time at the Martini's Bar last night at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati!  It was samba night and everyone in the bar was game enough to dance in the petit dance floor!  The energy of the band was infectious and the brand of music they were playing made couples show off what they could do in the dance floor.

It was pretty intimidating especially that I have NO formal social dance training but I just let my hair down and allowed my body to just dance to the music!  It turns out that every Saturday and Monday, the samba band plays there and that night, my friend Wendy and her classmates in samba class showed us what they could do! And shimmy they did to different famous songs done samba style!  It was pretty cool to watch!

Dinner at Cerchio

Another birthday celebration, another new restaurant!  This time, to celebrate our friend Joan and Honey's birthdays, we decided to treat them at Cerchio.  I have heard of this restaurant before and it does look nice inside.  We were lucky we got a nice table in the end, with a seating for 8 people.  It was perfect since it was near a huge mirror and since we were at the end of the room, we could do all the picture taking we wanted without interfering with the other guests.

I think parking is hard outside so I had to ask Larry, my driver to drop me off.  Parking in Morato is getting harder and harder nowadays.

Well, for the food, we ordered pomelo salad - which was delicious - and a platter meal good for 5-6 persons.  We decided on the combination food - and it was perfect since it both had meat and fish in it! And it was delicious!

I will definitely go back here for a more intimate date hehe!  Maybe even Sunday family dinner with Vic, Mama and the kids.

Aubergine's Delectable Desserts

Melting chocolate bar with your choice of ice cream - 360 pesos (US$8.56)

Tiramisu - a chocolate cup of tiramisu with creme Anglaise, served with Arabica coffee infused ice cream - 360 pesos (US$8.56)

Mascarpone-nougat ice cream bar with chocolate on rhubarb jelly and creme brulee - 360 pesos (US$8.56)

I was lucky to be able to sample some of the most delectable desserts I have ever tasted from a local fine dining restaurant.  The desserts that were served to us in Aubergine were just to die for!

My most favorite among them all was the mascarpone-nougat ice cream bar with chocolate on rhubarb jelly and creme brulee.  The ice cream was just delicious and the creme brulee was perfect!  This one you should try!

In terms of presentation, their tiramisu looked cute!  It was a chocolate cup tiramisu with creme Anglaise, served with Arabica coffee infused with ice cream.  What you had to do was use a teaspoon and scoop the tiramisu slowly and savor its coffee based flavor.  You can also actually eat the cup - which is made up of chocolate!  Yum yum!

Another super delicious dessert was the melting chocolate bar.  This one was really really sweet and it just melted in my mouth!  Just the perfect sweetness that I wanted!
