My Daily Expenses: March 7, 2011

Today, I spent a little for entertainment since I watched a movie. I did give in to my food cravings so it contributed to the increased amount.  Here are my expenses today -

1.  food - 300 pesos (US$6.93) - two brownies and two pizzas. The pizzas sucked though since it was not fresh.  I should not buy from Yellow Cab on weekdays since their pizzas are not fresh.

2.  movie - 200 pesos (US$4.62)  - Cinema 7 in Trinoma is now that expensive!

3.  Internet - 88 pesos (US$2.04)

2.  food - 402 pesos (US$9.29)

My Daily Expenses: March 4, 2011

I spent a lot again today since I decided to watch the movies that I wanted.  And also, I hired the driver to make my commute today easier.

1.  gas - 200 pesos (US$4.62) - I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to putting gas into the van.  At least it makes me see how much that thing usually uses!

2. driver - 560 pesos (US$12.95) - that's his daily wage plus some food allowance.

3. parking - 75 pesos (US$1.73)

4.  movies - 350 pesos (US$8.09) - I decided to watch in Glorietta instead of GB3 since the movies were cheaper and they ended an hour earlier

5.  food - 168 pesos (US$3.88) - I took out the drinks and the fries since I'm supposed to be on a diet

                 1353 pesos (US$31.27)

Here are my expenses for today -

1.  Rimula X - 270 pesos (US$6.21)

2. gas - 200 pesos (US$4.60)

4.  Internet - 13 pesos (US$0.30)

My Daily Expenses: March 1, 2011

Well, I'm back again to posting my daily expenses since I'm trying to cut down on my diet and pay off my other card.  Today was a busy day for me though.  I am beginning to discover how nice the Eastwood Mall is.  Even then, I still keep a sharp eye on what I spent today.  By the way, the peso is strengthening over the dollar so it is getting to be more expensive living in Manila nowadays.

1. Internet - 47 pesos (US$1.08) - Since I have to check on my work e-mail, I found that there was a Station 168 shop in the Citywalk part of Eastwood, so I chose to work there.

2. food - 440 pesos (US$10.13) - I decided to get the beef sandwich meal at NYFD.  Not really a very good choice especially for someone on a diet.  But the movie was about to start so I had no other choice.  I also got a Rocky Mountain brownie at Mrs. Fields.  I was just tempted!  Also, I treated my friend Anne with coffee at Starbucks since she brought me the worksheets and assignment for our Spanish class.  Just had to be nice!

3. movie - 181 pesos (US$4.17) - the movies in Eastwood are more expensive but their chairs are more comfortable actually.

4.  parking - 110 pesos (US$2.53) - no flat whole day rate in Eastwood, tsk, tsk.....

                  ----------------------------
                  778 pesos (US$17.91)

*  Evaluation to minimize expenses:

1.  Just buy bread at the bakery and make baon so that you eat your food at home.  That way, I can cut down my food expenses by 80%.  Also, just treat myself once a week with either that Mrs. Fields brownie or that cookies I love in SM North EDSA.  Just schedule it every Thursday.  JUST ONCE A WEEK!! So no more sweets this week!

2.  Be conscious of the parking fees!  Avoid them as much as possible or choose malls which have the daily flat rate.

3.  Bring water from the gym so I won't have to buy any more drinks or eat stuff while watching a movie. That would help me lost weight faster.

4.  I need the movie budget for my blog so that expense stays.

Today, I went out and watched a movie so I was able to spend a little bit than normal.

1.  movie - 190 pesos (US$4.26) - I don't know why the moviehouse for Hereafter would cost this much!
2. food - 211 pesos (US$4.73) - I bought a brownie from Mrs. Fields and an egg sandwich from Oliver's
               --------------------------------------
             401 pesos (US$8.99)

My Daily Expenses: January 21

I did not spend much today, just basically the essentials, so that's good!

1.  taxi cab fare - 150 pesos (US$3.37) - that's how much it costs going from Roxas District to Taft in Instituto Cervantes

2.  snack - 141 pesos (US$3.17) - that's for a ham and cheese sandwich and a Mountain Dew soda can drink - very expensive! the two waffles I got in ABS just cost me 31 pesos!

3. Internet use - 20 pesos (US$0.45)  - I just had to check something in the Internet before I went up to the gym

Thank God I only spent 321 pesos today.  That's just about the minimum wage here.

My Daily Expenses: January 19

Well, I didn't have too many expenses today.  I decided to bring baon and water to my Spanish class so I wouldn't have to spend too much on their expensive cafe there.  Today is massage day though so I did spend some money today.

1.  parking at Instituto - 115 pesos (US$2.59) - The parking fee of Instituto (60 pesos) is probably the most expensive parking place I know!  Imagine paying this much when I just parked between 12:30PM and 4:14PM!  Wow!  I could park at SM North the whole day and I'll just pay 45 pesos! The extra 55 pesos was for the ABS-CBN parking.

2.  massage at New York Spa - 850 pesos (US$19.10)  Actually the massage just costs 750 pesos.  The extra was my tip.

3.  food - 138 pesos (US$3.10) - I had the urge today to eat Yang Chow rice so I went to Chow King and mixed it with pork siomai.  Yum yum!

               --------------------------------------
            1103 pesos (US$24.80)

I also learned today that if I had my parking ticket validated at the New York Spa, I could get my parking for free, at least for the first three hours!  Cool!

My Daily Expenses: January 15, 2011

Today, I met up again with my Francophone friends so there was a bit of expenses, than the usual day.  Here are my expenses for today -

1.  movie - 200 pesos (US$4.52)
2.  food - 953 pesos (US$21.52)
3.  Larry - 100 pesos (US$2.26)
4.  gas - 300 pesos (US$6.78)
5.  GT magazine - 699 pesos (US$15.79)
6.  load - 100 pesos (US$2.26)
            ------------------------------------------

TOTAL - 2352 pesos (US$53.12)

It's really astonishing how much money passes through my hands in a day! And these expenses don't even include the basic items in the house and all our other house bills.  Oh well, dinners like these and the magazine are not normal things I do everyday, so it's ok to splurge once in a while.

Well, I still spent a little today since I could not help it. I just had to buy Miguel Escueta's CD since I've already done the reviews for both Sugarfree and Taylor Swift's CDs, so it was time to buy a new OPM CD.  I did not spend much today, just 100 pesos for the load (US$2.28) and 250 pesos for Miguel Escueta's CD (US$5.71).

My Daily Expenses: January 4, 2011

It's back to the Excel expenses sheet for me again.  I think my gas expenses for these coming weeks will increase as I will be traveling to Taft more often for my Spanish lessons.  Anyhow, here are my expenses for today:

1.  Toiletries - toothpaste and some chocolates - US$2.80 (122 pesos)  Can't avoid this, and can't resist getting some Chocnut, hurrah!

2. gas - US6.89 (300 pesos) This sucks. I pumped gas worth 200 pesos yesterday, and today, another 300.  Tomorrow, surely, another 300.  I'm predicting about 1500 pesos for gas a week for me this January.

3.  parking, Larry - US#3.22 (140 pesos) - Well, I went to MOA today since I had an appointment there.  Have to give money for food and parking for Larry, my driver.

4.  renewal of membership - US$9.19 (400 pesos) - no choice here, have to renew my yearly membership for this Club.

Imagine, I spent more than US$22 (1000 pesos).  What a way to start the New Year!  Too much investment in just going to Taft for the Spanish class.  Oh well, that's life!
