When Going to Subic: All Those Toll Fees Can Drive You Mad!

It was funny because when we reached our fourth toll booth - and asked to shell out another amount - we were frankly, exasperated already by all the toll fees we've had to pay to negotiate travel from Quezon City to Subic!  All in all, please budget 408 pesos one way or 816 pesos balikan, if you plan to go to Subic.  We brought a modest Innova van, so just figure out your own fee based on the ride you're bringing.

In fairness, I loved the view of the drive at the SCTEX although my friend told me there are NO STREET LIGHTS at NIGHT, so if you want to avoid that experience, I suggest you try to leave Subic earlier or QC for that matter.  My friend also told me that there was an alternative route but we'd have to pass through THAT highway we used to pass as kids going to Angeles and Baguio.  Just reminiscing about those experiences made all the money we paid to the tolls worthwhile!
