Yes, that sign really existed in 1930's California, and you can just imagine how our "manongs" felt when they saw those - as they toiled under the bright California sky - helping a country who saw them no better than dogs. Well, I do hope they bring the play "The Romance of Magno Rubio" here since it details those experiences of the first wave of Filipino immigrants to the US. That sign is also the first scene from that play. Kinda thought-provoking, don't you think?
