Fitness First Diary: Mix and Match Already!



We did mix and match already today for Body Balance.  Imagine that!  I've only done the new release a few times and I haven't gotten bored with it yet, and we're already doing mixed stuff. Pity really.  The teacher we have though is new and she's not quite good with the poses.  Not yet anyway.  I'm sure she'll improve soon.  Anyhow, the cute chinito guy who attends the Wednesday class also attended today.  Too bad he came late.

Nelly covered for Genesis today and she got praises from Tita Nelly, who's hard to please.  There were two guys in front of me though and they were a bit irritating.  They aren't from ABS.  Just irritating that two unattractive guys would be right in front of me.  Just takes out the motivation and encouragement.

What I Like About Body Balance 53


Is it just me or is this new release just tough on the legs?  Anyhow, I've always associated Body Balance as a leg and core buster so I'm not surprised.  The second track which works on the legs was a bit hard for me yesterday since I did leg exercises the day before, so my thighs were really pretty tired!  I like the balance track for this release since it's not too fussy and I think the sequence makes us not too shaky.  Well, bottomline is I can do it well, which is good for my confidence.  Finally, the Pilates and core track here is tough. I want to memorize its sequence so I can also do it everyday, and not only in class.  The movements are slow, deliberate and very effective.  I've had to stop several times yesterday since my legs were tired already and my core was really working hard! I just hope I can do it more times before they go to mix and match again.

What I Like About Body Balance 51



I've only done the latest release of Body Balance twice since it was launched two weeks ago, but I like it very much.  There are so many stretches that everytime I finish it, I feel that my body is more limber and relaxed at the same time.  Even the core exercises are very helpful since they concentrate on the obliques and the plank, which is getting good rep these days.  Anyway, I plan do this twice a week plus one yoga class so that should be enough stretching for me.  Now that I'm hitting forty, it's important for my body to feel limber!

My Fitness First Diary: January 3


Well, after that long Christmas and New Years holiday, I decided today to jumpstart my fitness program again, this time returning to, what I think, was my successful program from the last quarter of last year. My Monday schedule was brutal, and still is, starting off with Body Jam, then Body Combat, then rounding it off with Body Balance.  Today was a bit difficult since my body was not really in tip top shape but I plodded on, and I still gave more with every move in the exercises.  Interestingly, after that grueling 3 hour exercise, I did not find my body to be too sore!  Oh well, I think my body has already adjusted a bit.  However, tomorrow, I won't be doing a three-set exercise again.  I'll just do weights.

Now, let's see how I can fix my diet so I can finally find some results. I weighed in today at 203 lbs.  My goal is to bring it down to 201 pounds next week.  Let's see, if my diet cooperates!

Tough Yoga Class Tonight


I think one reason Miche's class is always full is that there are enough yoga and Body Balance addicts at Fitness First The Block who demand a kick-ass class!  There was a bit of room tonight though but the quality of Miche's poses were tough (as usual) as she constantly pushed us to do the poses to the maximimum of our flexibility.  Problem is, I did leg exercises yesterday so my thighs were in no position to hold my whole body for a long period.  Anyhow,  I just endured the pain, except in one instance where I had to 'cheat' a bit, otherwise, my legs were just ready to give in!

Then, I went straight to Gen's Body Jam class, but got sidetracked for a while as Toinette and I exchanged numbers and quick stories.  I still have to get used to the steps of the new release but I am beginning to like them now.  Maybe after one week, I could already 'emote' and do the steps as they should have been done.  Tonight was also one of those rare moments where there was a cute guy in class!  And he was two rows in front of me!  At least, some motivation with eye candy like that is always welcome!

Finally, I did some chest and back exercises but I decided on doing lesser weight since I knew my body was tired already.  Anyway, there was only one cute guy in the weights area.  It was a late Friday night so what did I expect!

I weighed in today and I was already just 200 pounds which really made me happy!  I was 202 pounds when the week started!  I guess I have to eat less again tomorrow if I want to maintain this weight.  I just need the discipline in eating!

It's Literally Hot at FF Greenhills

I was very surprised to see JM very early today.  Too bad I didn't see him undress, but I love the sleeveless .  shirt that he wore.  Showed his arms to full effect!  There was no AC in the 2nd floor of the gym today so it was warm in the weights area.  The GX room was cooler but they still had to put a fan there. Anyway, I did not notice it since JM was really really handsome today!  I hope we could finally talk one of these days.  I'm just really too shy.  It's so easy to melt when I look into his eyes.

Jury's Body Combat class was as good as ever!  JM was there and that cute midget guy.  I also came late to the Body Balance class.  I think Rei is already starting to make eye contact with me but I'm just too shy as of now.  Maybe soon.  He does have a nice body and we were both alone in the sauna for a few minutes, but I didn't know what to say to him. I did catch him giving me a few glances.

Body Balance: Tough yet Wonderful!


I've attended Miche's Dynamic Yoga classes before so I know how tough she can be, but it was only today that I've attended her Body Balance class at Fitness First SM The Block (Tue, 5:30PM), and boy, she makes it tough on everyone!  And I love it!  I love the way she really guides everyone and encourages everyone to do their best.  It's easy for a Body Balance class to be lackadaisical but never in Miche's class.  

What also makes her class more challenging is that her attendees are very good so that it pushes me to do good as well!  Lovet!  If you want a challenging yet very good teacher, try her class.  Be sure to come early though since the mats fill up quickly and usually, 15 minutes before her class, there is almost no space left anymore.
