My Own Fight Against Belly Fat

I came across this facebook post of a guy who took pictures of himself as he tried to lose his body fat - and the results were pretty astounding!  I think in a matter of 8 months, he was able to lose the belly fat and even achieved a six pack!  So it got me thinking, what if I use the same tactic so that I could really see my own belly - and see how ugly it really looks like - and implement some sort of diet plan and exercise and see if it changes - month by month.  The next photo will appear on March 26, and hopefully, there would be some changes in the contour and largesse of my really ugly looking belly fat!!  Good luck to me!

Mulling on Doing a Fish and Vegetables Diet

I read this interesting article by Bum Tenorio in the Philippine Star yesterday where he stated that he had to go pesca-vegetarian (he eats only fish, shellfish and vegetables) so that his BP would normalize.  I don't know my BP though but what I know is during my last doctor check-up, the doctor said I was borderline hypertensive.  I love eating meat and I eat it everyday.  However, since I crossed over to the wrong side of 40, I was thinking of being moderate already with my meat intake.  Maybe go pesca-vegetarian three times a week, to balance out all that meat intake.  I think I'll consciously do that this week. Anyway, that would also help me lose weight!  Let's see how it goes....

Food Is the Enemy! - My Diet Plan Nowadays

Since I weighed in last Thursday and found out I breached the 200 pound mark and I am now 2 pounds lesser than that, my mind went on a war freak overdrive!  Food is the enemy has been my mantra these past few weeks, since Christmas, that's why I didn't gain weight during the holidays.  The attitude continued up to now and I'm happy to see I have lost a little bit of the poundage.

Yes, I want to lose more, but we all know how hard that is to do - what with all the delicious food there are out there!  So everytime I am tempted, I just say, 'Food is the enemy'!  I may have to say that a few more times since I'm aiming for 195 lbs by the end of February.  Not impossible, but very difficult to do.  One nice thing about this though is that the belly bulge is becoming less and less visible.  Now, if only I could just put my portions into baby sizes, I should be successful with my new goal!  I will keep you posted on this!

Trying My Darn Best To Eat Fruits Instead of Donuts and Milk Chocolates!

My fridge is a study in contrast.  On one side is a box of Red Ribbon chocolate cake and two boxes of one dozen Krispy Kreme donuts.  On the other side are pieces of oranges and apples and grapes and guavas.  And every night, as I blog, it's always a battle to choose what to munch while I type away in my computer!

The good thing though, is that I make the fruits available now, so I can always have a choice of eating the right thing, instead of just giving in to my sweet tooth all the time.  For two nights last week, I just munched on a huge guava each night.  And in my daily breakfasts, I have asked the cook to prepare calamansi juice for me!  It's the best way for me to fight my colds!

Last night, I ate these tiny oranges, which I bought in Quiapo, and they were so delicious!!  And my brother always has his daily dose of lanzones, which I get a few pieces from every night.  At least now, I am enjoying the fruits and just indulge on my sweet tooth urges when I'm really too weak to resist them!

My Goals For This Week: October 7, 2010

It's Thursday, October 7, and I am setting my goals for this week.  I want to continuously improve myself and enjoy my life so I decided to do this on a weekly basis.

1.  Cut my food intake by 30%.  That's the most realistic goal I can set for myself.  I still eat like a freaking pig!  I will try to weigh in today so I have a benchmark for next Thursday.  I want to lose 1 pound a week - a feasible target.

2.  Sleep at 3AM so I can attend the lunch mass at St. Paul.  I have to readjust my schedule a bit for that.

3.  Buy fruit so I won't have to eat sweets at night.

4. Read 2 pages of Desert everyday and blog about it.

5.  Continue to devote 30 minutes to reading fiction or magazines a day.

6. Review two albums a week, and feature some new downloads.

Now that I've posted my goals for this week, let me see which of them I achieve success in next week!
