My Favorite TV Channels For 2012

Starting last September, I decided to monitor what TV shows I loved watching every week, and what TV channels I mostly watched.  I ranked shows from #1 to #10 and gave 10 points to the #1 show, 9 points for the #2 show, and so on and so forth.  So the number beside each channel indicates the points the channel got for each show that appeared in my weekly top 10 list.

As of December 14, 2012, here is the ranking of the channels that top my TV fare.  I am not surprised that HBO tops my list since I watched a lot of HBO TV shows earlier this year.

A Riveting Chinese TV Talk Show: Most Favorite Show This Week

This TV show entitled Interviews Before Execution is undeniably one of my most favorite shows for 2012.  Not only is it riveting, it really touches you at the core - especially that it is set in a country known for its ruthlessness against criminals!

These are my most favorite TV shows for the week ending November 30, 2012 -

The Trouble With Dee Dee: A Feel Good Movie Tops My Favorite TV Show This Week

Here are my favorite shows for the week ending November 23, 2012 -

#1 Diva Universal - The Trouble With Dee Dee

This feel good story about a woman-child and her father is my favorite TV show this week.  I was surprised by the character and how generous and giving she was and how she sacrificed her well-being just to give to those who have nothing.  And it's a comedy too!

#2 AXN - Amazing Race

I feel bad that the hippies are gone and mainly due to them foolishly losing their passports!  Also, Russia is such an interesting place which the show features very well at this leg of the race.

#3 Jack TV -American Horror Story Asylum

Another freaking scary episode this week - and this time, we finally meet the people one of the sisters was feeding!

#4  History - The Fall of Penang

I thought this would be a boring show but I was very wrong.  It was done in a pretty interesting manner!  I hope we could have a local version of this.  The Fall of Manila, perhaps?

#5 Diva Universal - Army Wives

I chanced upon this show about, well, army wives, and their episode today featured a battered army wife.  The character was still young but she was tough.  Domestic violence is never an easy experience.

#6 History - Mankind: The History of All of Us: Empires

A magnificent documentary!  The episode I saw featured the Roman and Chinese empires.

#7 Bio - Celebrity Ghost Stories

I love this show and this week, they featured Houdini and Jonathan Scaech.

#8 Bio - Ghostly Encounters

Another show that I love watching and this week was really scary - theater ghosts!

#9 Bio - Ghostly Encounters

This episode featured a CD moving in a haunted house!

#10 Nat Geo - Is It Real: Vampires

A nice documentary featuring real vampires.

American Horror Story Asylum Is My Favorite TV Show of the Week

I was lucky to see two episodes of American Horror Story Asylum one after the other this week in Jack TV because the show's story is really good!  I love it!  It's so sick!  My favorite episode of the week involved an exorcism which was filmed really well, it could rival a movie!

Here are my favorite TV shows for the week ending November 16, 2012 -

#1 Jack TV - American Horror Story Asylum - exorcism scene

My second favorite TV show was this episode of Criminal Minds where the story was of two elderly people who kidnapped kids!

#2 Universal - Criminal Minds - kidnapper of kids

Most of the episodes of Grimm that I've seen are not really scary but the one I saw this week about a bunch of wendigo brothers was pretty scary!

#3 Jack TV - Grimm - wendigo

I love this show!  This week, they featured this perky girl who already had a heart attack at the age of 19.  Pretty cute!

#4 Lifestyle Network - What Not to Wear - girl with heart attack

The Amazing Race continues with the hippie boys losing their passports.

#5 AXN  - Amazing Race 21

This was another scary episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories, my favorite, being that of designer Cynthia Rowley.

#6 Celebrity Ghost Stories - Cynthia Rowley

In this episode, Evan Peters is being entered into the asylum, accused of raping and killing women.

#7 Jack TV - American Horror Story Asylum - Evan Peters

This was a fantastic documentary as it showed man's history.  I saw the part until the Roman empire.  Can't wait to see to the end!

#8 History Channel - The History of Mankind The Story of Us All

This 30 minute show features common people and their encounters with ghosts

#9  Bio - Ghostly Encounters - haunted hotel

This hippie guy brings drugs to Chile after successfully bringing cocaine out of Peru into the US

#10 National Geographic - Locked Up Abroad Chile

A Horror Movie My Top Favorite TV Show This Week

Since it's the November 1 weekend where Filipinos visit their beloved dead relatives, it's not unusual that my favorite TV show this week is a movie - a horror movie - and this one is special since it's also the first movie of one of my favorite actors - Tom Hanks!

Here are my favorite TV shows for the week ending November 2, 2012 -

#1 TCM - He Knows You're Alone

#2 Lifestyle Network - The Conversations with Amandade Cadenet

I really enjoyed this chatfest even if all the guests were women - Alicia Keys, Eva Longoria, Kelly Preston - and they talked about woman stuff.  It was like they were just guests in your living room.  Bravo!

#3 Nat Geo - Science of Saints

This documentary featured the lives of Saints Chrysanthus and Daria and the forensics involving proving that their bones were not fakes.

#4 Nat Geo - The Truth Behind Zombies

This interesting documentary tries to prove that zombies can actually become a reality - so there was talk about a viral pandemic, hypnotherapy and Haitian vodoo!

#5 Nat Geo - Taboo: Mating

This documentary talked about women who love men who are in jail!  Very interesting stories!

#6 AXN - Amazing Race S21

It's another leg for the racers and they are still in Dhaka, Bangladesh!  It's a place I want to visit even if it's really poor and crowded!

#7 Jack TV - Big Bang Theory

This episode was really funny since everyone in Sheldon's group of friends did not quite like his new 'girlfriend'

#8 HBO - 30 Minutes or Less

This movie of Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari is really funny.  Loved it!

#9 Bio - Celebrity Ghost Stories

A new batch of ghost stories although this one was not very scary.

#10 Nat Geo - Hooked - Giant Devil Catfish

It was funny that I ended up watching a documentary about fish - and fish in India!  You should see the catfishes - they're uber huge!
