So Into Anna Kendrick

I saw Anna Kendrick once again today at the Independent Spirit Awards and found out that she was in the movie 50/50 - a small movie that hasn't reached the light of day here in Manila, sad to say.  I looovvvee Anna since I first saw her in Up In the Air!  I've seen the rushes of 50/50 and she even looks more divine there - more womanly this time!  She looked very businesslike in Up In the Air.

Oh dear, I wonder why they rarely show movies like these here in Manila.  It's a pity really, it doesn't seem like a small film because it has a bigger story in it that seems like a horror movie - a genre which does not really play well on a small screen.  Jessica Chastain is in it!  That woman was just everywhere last year!

Harmony Santana: Breakthrough Transgender Actress

I am currently watching the Independent Spirit Awards and I discovered this wonderful actress, well, a transgender actress, Harmony Santana, who got nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Gun Hill Road.  I think I have to look for that movie in my suki DVD seller!  

Her nomination can serve as a marker for actresses like her, who may have to face discrimination just because they are.  It's great that she's sharing her acting talent to the world despite the labels being attached to her.  She's a real looker by the way!
