Bridge of Spies - "Would it help?" quote

Optimism and freedom from worry are the two most valuable lessons I've learned during my own Holy Week meditation.

These past few years have been very difficult from me and I have been pushed to the edge so many times, it would've been very easy to just give up.

Anyhow, it's very funny that it took a movie character to help me realize that I worry too much!

I know many people thought Sylvester Stallone should've won the Oscar this year but I was one of the few, including of course the members of the Academy who voted for Mark Rylance, who think that this guy really delivered the best performance among their group.

In this wonderfully cut montage of his scenes from the movie Bridge of Spies, and through the wittily written words of the Coen brothers, it took a Soviet spy character to remind me to live life more optimistically (although I believe I am already one of the most optimistic people I know!) and to not worry too much, because as his character says in these scenes - would negativity and worrying too much, help?

Tom Hanks and He Knows You're Not Alone

I'm a big fan of Tom Hanks since I've seen him start off in comedy (Bachelor's Party) and eventually become a two time Oscar winner for Forrest Gump and Philadelphia.  I am now watching a horror movie in TCM called He Knows You're Not Alone and I was very surprised to see him in it!  It's his first movie pala ever!  He has a very short scene in it, maybe just 3 minutes but you can already sense his star appeal by his presence and the way he speaks!  He's just really great!  And yeah the movie is super scary!  I was really scared!

Movie Review: Lightweight Hanks-Roberts Tandem in 'Larry Crowne'

I haven't seen a movie from this two for the longest time!  Julia Roberts appeared only for a few scenes in Valentine's Day.  And as for Tom Hanks, I just keep seeing his name as Producer for many HBO TV series. 

Anyhow, Larry Crowne would have been a perfect vehicle for both A-list actors ten years ago, but today's romantic comedies are a bit edgy and Larry Crowne, although it talks of job loss and recession, is quite lightweight for this day and age.

Unfortunately, being cute doesn't really translate to being funny.  I don't remember too many funny lines in the movie.  It's a movie that these two can act with their eyes closed! 

Better to skip this and just watch the DVD.
