Richard Gere: At the Peak of His Powers in Arbitrage

            I only realized now that Richard Gere’s Golden Globe Best Actor Drama nomination was really well-deserved!  I guess the competition this year was just really fierce that no slot was reserved for Richard in the Oscar derby for Best Actor.  Anyway, I watched Arbitrage last night in DVD and he was just plain amazing in it.  Cool, composed, shrewd, cunning, but always unruffled by the things going around him – and still aggressive and sharp when he needs to be.  That was how Richard played Robert Miller, the main character in the movie.  His work here ranks among his best ever!
