Another Absurdity from Hugo Chavez

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez was to have said that the US has given all leftist South American presidents, cancer!!  He said this after news came out that Argentina's president, Cristina Fernandez was diagnosed of it.  "It would not be strange if they had developed the technology to induce cancer and nobody knew about it until now....I don't know, I'm just reflecting."

Aside from the two, Paraguay's Fernando Lugo, Brazil's Dilma Rousseff and former Brazilian leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have all been diagnosed recently with cancer. All of them are leftists!

China: Executes the Most Number of People Yearly

I am actually for the death penalty and I feel that if used correctly, it could be a good deterrent for criminality.  I can't really blame China if it has the record of the most executions yearly.  That record stands at 4000 people yearly - phew!!! That's like eradicating a whole batch in a school!  I guess if you have to rule over a billion people, some sort of iron hand has to be implemented to make sure no one goes out of line - and crimes against humanity, which includes drug trafficking - are brought to a minimum! 

Just imagine if 1% of 1 billion Chinese were drug addicts, that would be almost 10 million people!!  That's the whole of Metro Manila!!  So, I guess they have to be very strict, before things like drug addiction go out of hand!

Freedom for Syria

For all freedom-loving people around the world, the protests of the citizens of Syria are a demonstration that above all things, people want democracy and the rights that go with it.  That is especially true for the youth of Syria, who probably now couldn't believe that they have been ruled by the same government for so long!  Up to now, they have been met by violence from their country's military! Isn't that crazy, you're a soldier and you're shooting your own fellowmen who are just out there, unarmed and expressing their views against the ruling government.  Must really suck big time. 

Anyhow, I just hope the presence of the Arab League observers will prevent more unnecessary deaths. 

Ultra-Orthodox Jews Discriminating Women

What is it with certain sectors of our human race that think women should be treated as second class citizens!  I just read an article today where the chief military rabbi of Israel condemned ultra-Orthodox Jews who discriminated women!  This came as certain "religious soldiers" verbally abused a young female soldier for refusing to sit at the back of a public bus and their attempts to segregate a town's pavements!! Que horror!!   The town is Beit Shemesh - a town who has been witness to clashes between ultra-Orthodox activists and other town residents.

I mean, what do these guys think of their mothers and sisters?  Garbage?  Shit?  If I were these guys' mothers, I would crush them at birth if I only knew they would treat me like shit when they grow up.  Such impertinence should not be tolerated by people anywhere and I'm glad the highest military officers of Israel have stood up for their women soldiers.  Anyone defending one's country should be treated with utmost respect - not by contempt, just because she happens to be a woman!

My Heart Goes Out to the Ordinary North Koreans

Hell on earth must look like North Korea.  Well, there are no flaming fires or devils prancing around, it's just that there is absolutely no individual freedom whatsoever, that anyone born North Korean is like being damned already, while living on earth.  With the death of Kim Jong-Il, the isolated country is once again on the spotlight and only time will tell if its Orwellian landscape will change in my lifetime.


Well, nothing is impossible.  The Berlin Wall fell during my lifetime.  A black American became president of the United States.  So really, North Korea may soon become like South Korea soon enough.  It's just that the contrast between the two nations is so beguiling.  South Korea is an example of what a Korea could become if given individual freedoms.  North Korea exemplifies the opposite.  I believe every human being should be in an environment where he or she can realize his or her full potential and become an asset to mankind.  That may never happen to a North Korean unless that cult of personality existing there is dismantled.  I think being a North Korean is just a step up from being a zombie.  At least zombies are fodder for horror entertainment.
