Coco Martin's Interview in Gandang Gabi Vice: My Most Favorite TV Show this Week

Coco Martin's interview in Gandang Gabi Vice is my most favorite TV show this week.  I found the interview very funny and you can really sense that both Vice and Coco were friends even before they were really famous - they actually have chemistry together.  And the way Coco smiles and laughs here looks so genuine!  For someone so guarded about his personal life, it was quite refreshing to see.

Here are my ten favorite TV shows for the week ending May 30, 2014 -

#1 ABS - Gandang Gabi Vice - Coco Martin guest

#2 Jack - The Tomorrow People - find his Dad - boys with powers

#3 Fox Sports - Alize Lim vs. Serena Williams

#4 Fox Sports - Stosur vs. Cibulkova

#5 Fox Sports - Mladenovic vs. Riske

#6 Fox Sports - Ivanovic vs. Svitolina

#7 Diva Universal - Mindy Project - hospitalized Mindy

#8 Diva Universal - Merlin - princess marrying prince

#9 PBO - Wanted: Perfect Mother - Regine Velasquez, Christopher de Leon

#10 Diva Universal - Downton Abbey - old friend

My Thoughts on 'The Mistress'

#1 COOs or Child of Owners, especially the men are sweet and nice guys pala and can hobnob easily with the families of women who look like they're just one step away from poverty.  Where in the world can Filipina women find men like these?  Oh yeah, in a movie!!

#2 Mistresses are nice and sweet women pala when in reality, they are just plain bitches and homewreckers who only think of themselves and who should just fling themselves on an oncoming MRT train to snuff them out of their miserable lives.

#3  I can totally relate how the same woman can both snare the father and the son.  That part, I totally get.

#4  I totally get how the mistress in the movie did what she had to do getting involved with a married man.

#5 Sana John Lloyd's character was darker, more sinister - with his boy-next-door looks, the movie scriptwriter could've played him to be Machiavellian - off to capture the heart of his Dad's mistress - and make her love him completely - only to let her off the hook in a heartless manner - and hurt her so badly - the only pill that can assuage her pain is to drink muriatic acid!  O di ba, mas violent ang ending!

Tapos his Dad finds out that his mistress commits suicide, he dies of a heart attack.

Son and mother inherit the power and control of the company - and in the ending scene, the wife, played here by Hilda Koronel, is seen cavorting with a young delicious man - hmmmm....sino pwede - let's say, Coco Martin - and then John Lloyd sees them doing the sex act - and then the next day, discovers that Coco Martin pala is the illegitimate son of his dead Dad!  Ay bongga - Greek tragedy ang dating!

Puro tuhugan!  What a mess!  Tyak na pag-uusapan ng sambayanan!!

I Hate You But I Can't Resist You: WTF is that?

While watching the first few minutes of the classic romance movie Love Story, I was a bit shocked at the lines the woman in the movie played by Ali McGraw was saying to her supposed romantic lead played by Ryan O'Neal.  I knew I was watching a romance movie and I knew that the "opposites attract" formula has always been used in this movie genre, but I just found some of the lines too brutal, offensive and something I myself wouldn't take sitting down!  Funny thing is, Ryan's character in the movie is not only drop dead gorgeous, he is PERFECT! Humble, a jock for Christ's sake, not a womanizer, very smart, I mean, do guys like these even exist in real life!!???  And he takes in all the verbal abuse and just shrugs them off! This guy could outnag a nagger!!

Anyway, the last time I saw this movie formula - "I hate you but I can't resist you" being used was in the local movie of Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto (I don't remember the movie's title, but it was the first movie of Angeline).  I just saw the trailer but scene after scene and line after line showed their animosity - and still, they ended up falling in love with each other!!

Hayyy.....movies nga naman.  In real life, if another guy talks to me like that, even if he looks like all my male fantasies combined, I'd ask him to take a hike and I'd kick his ass pa!  You insult me and then you say you love me.  WTF, f*** you!

Funny thing is, in the movies, this formula actually works!!

Coco Martin Before He Was So Famous

Am I just glad that I had this photo op with Coco Martin way before he was so famous - like how he's so famous now.  My friends who saw the Bench show told me that he had the loudest cheer among everyone - and he did not even take his shirt off!  Another friend also saw the immense crowd in Trinoma that greeted him - the demand for him was so huge they had to use the outside parking lot of Trinoma - just for him!!

By the way, this was taken two years ago at the Gawad Urian.  I forgot na what award Coco won but he's definitely a critic's favorite.  He's fearless kasi as an actor!!  Walang takot itong bata ito maghubad and he can actually act, even if wala siyang saplot!!

Oh well, like always, it was the gay people who 'discovered' Coco first.  He was already in our radar as early as five years ago since he was one of those actors who didn't think twice about taking his shirt off!  Well, not only his shirt but his underwear as well.  I did watch Serbis in a movie theater and I was not shocked at all to see Coco's crown jewels as he unassumingly f****ed Mercedes Cabral in the scene.

You just have to really hand it to the guy.  He really climbed up the ropes and since he did it the indie way - he can act very well - not like those reality TV show winners. Kasi naman ang workshop workshop lang will NOT make you an excellent actor!  You really have to start somewhere - theater ba or indies.....
