Michael McGrath: Tony Awards Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical
Michael McGrath won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for his work in Nice Work if You Can Get It. I read that Matthew Broderick is also in this play so this is definitely something I want to watch. I have here a snippet of an interview with the winner answering some questions about his work -
John Tiffany: Best Director Musical
Falling Slowly is one of my favorite Oscar-winning songs. It came from the movie Once - a small independent Irish movie, which won big on Oscar night. The movie has then been brought to Broadway and tonight, it won the award for Best Director Musical. I am definitely watching this if I do go to New York. I haven't actually heard the soundtrack of the musical yet, but I'm sure it's just right along the alley of its Oscar-winning theme.
The musical also won a host of other awards including Best Book of a Musical, Best Orchestrations, and Best Sound Design of a Musical.

Newsies: Best Choreography Tony Awards 2012
The cast of Newsies performed during the Tony Awards tonight and boy, was the choreography magnificent! It was done by Christopher Gattelli who won the award, and deservedly so. I mean the boys did a fantastic job tonight and I was awed by how enjoyable the whole sequence was.

Theatre Hunk: Steve Kazee
Another theatre hunk I saw in the Tony Awards tonight was Steve Kazee, the lead actor for the musical 'Once'. Although they say he's gay, he looked really sexy performing a song from the musical and you can't help notice those nice biceps that was bulging from his tight shirt!
Well, he's also this year's winner for the Best Performance of an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. This is his first Tony award.
Clybourne Park: 2012 Tony Award for Best Play
The Tony winners for Best Play rarely reaches the local shores since Filipinos are normally more fixated on the musicals. This year's winner, Clybourne Park may also be a hard sell to Filipinos since it talks about racial lines and the irony of racism. Normally, anything black or African-American would be a hard sell to us. Think of 'The Help' - a movie which made it big in America but nobody bothered to bring it here.

James Corden: Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role in a Play
James Corden just did a snippet of his role in the play One Man, Two Guvnors, a play which he originated first in the National Theatre in London and then was transported from the West End to Broadway. This is another play that I would love to watch. The snippet that Corden did in tonight's Tony awards was just hilarious - and his brand of physical comedy was just amazing!

Hello! From the Book of Mormons - My Favorite Number in this Year's Tony Awards
I just love this number! It's a very clever song with super fun lyrics! Tongue in cheek at its best! I guess I may have to watch The Book of Mormon when I get to New York one of these days.
Tony Awards Best Play 2012: Clybourne Park
Just a cursory look at the play shows the conflict that it wishes to discuss. It looks like it's a comedy though since there are some good punchlines and lines laced with irony!

Once: Tony Awards Best Musical 2012
This musical has journeyed from Ireland with a cast that included a Czech woman - to Los Angeles on Oscar night several years ago - as a movie that wowed the Academy voters with its poignant song, Falling Slowly.
Then, it moved to the Great White Way with aplomb, because it wins this year's Best Musical award - among the other many awards it has won tonight! See, small independent movies can sometimes go a long, long way, if it has a timeless story to tell.
