A True Love Story

The Fabe boys and the Fabe grandkids celebrated Mama's birthday today. Today was also Papa's death anniversary. Twenty-four years ago, Papa waited for Mama's birthday on October 5 and celebrated it with her the final time in his ward at the Lung Center, before finally giving his last breath early morning of October 6. It was already his sixth month in the hospital and for him to have waited for Mama's birthday, fighting the disease ravaging his lungs, before finally saying goodbye, had true love written all over it, and for me to witness that at a very impressionable age, with all the stories of annulments and separations and divorces and all the bickering celebrity couples at each others necks, made me feel really fortunate and secure, that my own parents really loved each other.

CONGO GRILLE serves almost 154 items including appetizers, seafood, soup, chicken, pork, beef & stake, specialty drinks, sodas, wines, dessert, and other native favorites. In contrast to other grill restaurants, substantially all menu items are prepared daily inside the stores kitchen facility using high-quality ingredients based on innovative and authentic regional recipes.

In 2006 CONGO GRILLE won first place, taking home all honor in the professional categories of the annual sisig festival in Pampanga. Along with CONGO GRILLE's grand slam win was the distinction of being declared as "SISIG KING" by no less than the sisig capital of the country. since it opened, it serves more than 30,000 servings of different kinds of sisig across all outlets per month.
