I just watched Wrath of the Titans and Battleship today and Liam Neeson is in both of them! Incredible! He's everywhere! I saw him earlier this year in The Grey which I thought he gave such a good performance! He had a supporting role though in Battleship and as Zeus in Wrath of the Titans, he had a bigger pivotal role, although he did not do much onscreen since he was chained most of the time!

John Tui: Samoan Hunk in Battleship
A movie about big ships need big men, and John Tui fills the bill here as he plays one of the courageous crew who helps Taylor Kitsch's character battle the aliens in Battleship. John is a hulk of a guy in the movie although he does get thrown around many times just like a paper doll. This is after all an action movie and all those alien bombs aimed at their ship are cruelly destructive.
Taylor Kitsch Saves the World Again in Battleship
Just a month after the John Carter debacle, Taylor Kitsch tries to save the world again, this time from the sea, in the naval adventure, Battleship. It's those pesky aliens again, and this time, they show their naval prowess - which is frankly, an eyeful to see! I actually enjoyed watching it. There was even a fight scene done almost wholly through radar - and boy, was that fun to watch!
As for Taylor, well, I guess after he did John Carter, he proceeded here - because in the beginning of the movie - he still had that John Carter haircut. Of course, he had to shed it off soon as he joined the US Navy. He does look hotter with shorter hair and he has a short naked bath tub scene here with all the suds strategically placed. What actually made the movie hotter for me was also in that bath tub scene was Alexander Skarsgard! Now, if only, instead of Alex blabbering about, if he just put Taylor's you know what in that mouth of his to shut him off - now that would be cool to see! Haizzz... my fantasy world.....
Alexander Skarsgard: Oh Captain My Captain in Battleship
I am not actually sure if Alexander Skarsgard's character in 'Battleship' was a captain since I wasn't paying too much attention to their ranks, but who cares? Walt Whitman's classic poem opening is a perfect title for him in this movie! I'm sure his appearance early on in the movie allowed the mommies in the audience - who were unceremoniously dragged by their sons - or husbands - to watch this mindless war games movie - a breath of fresh air. I say excellent casting to that! He does look sexy in that uniform, doesn't he? And he's tall! In that soccer scene, when he patted Taylor Kitsch on the back, you could see he was head and shoulders taller than Taylor!

Battleship: Plays Like A Video Game
The special effects of Battleship look great especially that they had to appear in water. As a whole though, I'm not surprised that I saw a lot of young boys in the audience since this is a movie that should make them troop to the theater - and yeah, bring along their Moms or Dads with them. As for me, I just went for the ride, especially that Alexander Skarsgård and Taylor Kitsch are here. They do have some shirtless scenes so at least, watching the movie was bearable. It was also a lot of fun watching songstress Rihanna kick some alien ass here. She's almost unrecognizable here since she has to have that plain military look - so no make-up, no crazy hairstyle - and it's refreshing to see.
There's a lot of action in the movie and destruction too! Yeah, you get to see a lot of aliens causing havoc but in the end, well, guess who wins.
