Daniel Radcliffe Daring as Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings

This post is for those who like Daniel Radcliffe and poems about sex.

Thanks to Daniel Radcliffe and his brave performance as the openly gay and celebrated 20th century poet Allen Ginsberg in the movie Kiss Your Darlings, I ended up reading poetry on a Friday night!

Just read this brazen excerpt from his award-winning poem, Howl, and I can't believe it was written in 1955!  It actually made me blush!

The 'who' here refers to "the best minds of my generation"  and "angelheaded hipsters".

"who let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy,

who blew and were blown by those human seraphim, the sailors, caresses of Atlantic and Caribbean love,

who balled in the morning in the evenings in rosegardens and the grass of public parks and cemeteries scattering their semen freely to whomever come who may,

who hiccuped endlessly trying to giggle but wound up with a sob behind a partition in a Turkish Bath when the blond & naked angel came to pierce them with a sword,

who lost their loveboys to the three old shrews of fate the one eyed shrew of the heterosexual dollar the one eyed shrew that winks out of the womb and the one eyed shrew that does nothing but sit on her ass and snip the intellectual golden threads of the craftsman’s loom"

Now that's how someone should passionately write poems about sex!

Restaurant Review: Rediscovering How Good Italianni's Service and Food Is!

The last time I ate in Italianni's previous to this one was in their Shangri-la Mall branch and the food there was just so-so.  And it's been years since I ate in Italianni's. I guess we just decided to try other restos.

So I was very happy and a bit surprised that they still had good service and delicious food!  This time, it was during my friend's birthday party in their Trinoma branch!  Next time I want some Italian food, I will definitely visit their Trinoma branch since everything my friend ordered tasted really yummy!!

I don't even know the names of the pizzas and the salads that she ordered but they were different from each other that maybe I should just pick and try when I am there!  I'm definitely going to visit the place since my experience there was just great!

They even gave some of my friends fee ice cream since it was their birthday!  How thoughtful!

Throwback Movie of the Week: Hocus Pocus

OMG!  I really enjoyed this movie when it came out more than 20 years ago!  It's incredible to know that it has already been that long since this movie came out!

This was before Sarah Jessica Parker became Carrie of Sex and the City.  Bette Midler was having hit movie after hit movie (remember For the Boys, Beaches and The First Wives Club) and Kathy Najimy just came from that very successful Sister Act series!

Then the younger generation had Thora Birch before she appeared in the Oscar-winning The American Beauty.

The Innovators: The Men Who Changed America: My Most Favorite TV Program This Week

Watching the History Channel show, The Innovators: The Men who Changed America, is my most favorite TV show this week since I learned a lot about the economic history of America in the early 20th century and the last part of the 19th century.  Names like Carnegie and Rockefeller and their contribution to the economic growth of America sounded pretty interesting.

Here are my ten favorite TV shows for the week ending August 1, 2014 -

#1 History - The Innovators: The Men Who Changed America

#2 History - The World Wars Episode 4- Churchill - We will Never Surrender

#3 History - The World Wars Episode 6 - Patton

#4 Fox Family Movies - Hocus Pocus

#5 HBO - True Blood - Yakuza killers

#6 Diva - The Face Australia - harness in the car

#7 CI - Wicked Attraction - 2 sniper shooters of innocent people

#8 CI -Born to Kill - Donald Nelson, Lesley Whittle

#9 History - Aliens and Bigfoot

#10 CI - Mobsters - Big Joey Massino
