Natural Selection

Another interesting indie movie which I discovered when I watched the Independent Spirit Awards was this one, Natural Selection.  Too bad we never see these movies here. Oh well, there's always the DVD.  Rachael Harris is fantastic in it!

Fitness First Trinoma Celebrates Sixth Year

Fitness First Trinoma celebrated their 6th year anniversary today!  The affair was well-prepared as there was enough food for everyone!  I was even able to attend the mass and the priest was very funny but very insightful!  I joined Carlo's 3PM Body Jam class and I really enjoyed it!  Also, most of the gang were there - Nina, Kat, Raquel, Chari, Budz, Raffy!  We all had fun and had enough to eat!  Kudos to FF Trinoma's management!

Mr. International 2013 4th Runner Up Gil Wagas

It's not only Filipinas who are winning beauty contests here and there.  Our men too are excelling!  I just learned through Facebook that Gil Wagas of Cebu just won 4th runner-up in  the Mr. International 2013 competition in Indonesia!  How cool is that!

Think of Me and Lauren Ambrose

I'm featuring here some small independent films that have gotten nominations in this year's Independent Spirit Awards.  They're really quite interesting!  One of them is Think of Me, which stars Lauren Ambrose of Six Feet Under.  She's grown up now and she plays the role of a single Mom!  The trailer looks suspenseful enough!  Definitely a movie I'd be searching in my suki's DVD store!

Adieu Mario O'Hara

I was still a teenager when the Bulaklak ng City Jail was shown in the theaters.  Of course, I had to watch it secretly since Mama never really encouraged us to watch Tagalog movies, and I had to go to Cebu City (I lived in the mountains as a kid), just to watch it.  It was a harrowing film to watch since it's about women who are in jail, not exactly a movie you'd want to watch on a weekend.  I'm  a Noranian by the way, so I just really had to watch the movie!  I don't remember much of the movie except that it was so graphic and real and Nora was so good in it.  There was also a lot of foul language (it was in jail after all).

Director Mario O'Hara, who directed that movie has bade farewell to us now but his legacy of good movies can stay with us forever.
