Tenia mucho calor hoy, estuvo irritante!

Despite Recession, Good Time For Sex Toy Industry: Amazon, Brooklyn's Shag Sales On The Rise

Sex sells – despite hard times.
As global crisis in economy forces many businesses to feel the plague, the sex toy industry on the contrary is heating up both online and in store. From Web behemoth Amazon to Brooklyn boutique store Shag, sales of an increasing range of sexual accessories are on the rise.
Sam Bard, 36, co founder of Shag in Williamsburg last December claimed that almost every customer is thankful enough for the opening of the shop telling her that it’s about time. She claimed that the sale of each month always surpasses the last.  The shop covers and sells every sexy item among them the vintage handcuffs, body paints and even hosts sex-themed events such as “introductory lessons in rope-bondage.”
Bard believes the recession helped the business, which opened on Roebling St., considered low for the gentrified neighborhood.
She rationalized that with the rather unstable economy today; more couples prefer to stay at home to save money, such that instead of spending cash for a one-time dinner, they would rather spend the money equivalent to a more practical item as sex toy that they can use indefinitely.
With customers satisfaction, comes the realization that the prize of this toy is insignificant in as far as the growth of sexual relationship is concerned. One user, 40-year old Heather, admits that despite being on a tight budget, both she and her boyfriend indulge in a $150 worth of “his and her” vibrator.
Babeland, a sex accessories store with three outlets in the city makes half of its sales from their online store.  In 2009, it recorded a 13% surge in sales and 18% spike in online visitors. Company spokeswoman Pamela Doan claimed that New Yorkers attributed for the highest percentage of their online sales.
Meanwhile, even household company names are joining the bandwagon. Amazon for instance launched its Sexual Wellness page in 2003 with 338 items more particularly condoms and lubricants. Soon after, it started to market more adventurous products as restraints, vibrators and flavored lubricants.
Charmaine Diploa, Amazon’s spokeswoman claimed the company has seen this category grow quite significantly over the last two years.  Currently, the company stocks about 60,000 items, with adult toys and games getting the highest share.
A current week's best-selling products were the "Magic Wand Massager" - a nonphallic vibrator - and "Doc Johnson Lucid Dream #5" - a multispeed waterproof stimulator.
Amazon reckons that discretion, which calls for a unique brand of customer’s convenience, is the secret weapon to its sudden rise in sales. With its manner of discretion, customers receive an Amazon box and no one needs to know what's inside other than that customer. Moreover, availing a number of products all in one place is something the customers are in fact so like about.

Surfing Porn at the Office Can Lead to a Promotion

Researchers from Advanced Institute of Management Studies (AIMS) released a rather controversial new study that purportedly shows that men who surf porn at the office are more likely to get a promotion to a management position to up to 69 percent as compared to men who do not indulge in such activities.
On a related research, scientists reported another astonishing discovery that as many as 6.9 percent of white collar male employees spend about  two hours or so a day viewing pornography on any given work day, with the peak porn viewing activity usually falls on a Wednesday. "It would be an understatement to say that we were thrilled to uncover these results," so said lead researcher and project coordinator Dr. Thad Chadwatcher.  He further stated that suffice it to say that while this particular activity is something to worry upon in a workplace in the past, it appears that the contrary is now adapted to something as a recourse to climb to the corporate ladder for its career-enhancing value. According to Dr. Chadwatcher, the seemingly surprising results of his research may be less counter-intuitive than originally believed considering that males, who typically have risen up the corporate ladder quicker than others, are likewise usually much more sexually active than their sexually inactive counterpart cubicle co-dwellers.  This, they attributed mainly to increased testosterone levels.
He explained further that with the qualities and leadership skills that these highest porn users have, it is but logical that they are inevitably the most qualified for a job promotion to drive the business forward. Perhaps it might also be a factor why a number of politicians, police and others in leadership and key positions are more often than not caught up in sex scandals, as he said these people also tend to give-in critical thinking skills to their sex organ.  According to him, it is ample time that we acknowledge that sex plays inside the work environment, and start to reward those who head the call of their natural instincts at the office. In so doing, we get the business leadership that we need for the economy’s sustainability, sans all of the politically correct sexual oppression that exists nowadays. On the contrary, it was found that women who view porn in the office are probably militant lesbians and thus, should be kept away from the corporate ladder as possible or so claimed by a related research note.  A clear case of discrimination if I may say so.

The Case of the Mistaken Organ

This is an odd case in Kenaman where police is looking into the claim of a 40-year old woman, a housewife, who lodged a rape complaint at the Cukai police station.  In her statement, the woman admitted that she made love to a man who she thought was her husband.  This she said happened inside the couple’s room at their residence in Chuping after she retired to bed at 5 a.m., Friday, after she had done with the hectic preparations for Hari Raya Aidilfitri while her husband has gone to work earlier. She said she just suddenly felt a warm body next to her and thinking that it was her husband, she did what came naturally and proceeded making love with him. She claimed further he did not see his face.  It was only when her husband, 34, whom she was surprised to see wearing his work clothes, entered the room and asked her about a man he had seen walking out of the room did she realize that she had sex with another man.
In the course of the investigation, the Police later arrested the couple's friend and a colleague of the husband, a 29-year-old laborer, who had been staying with them in the same house over the past two months.

‘Oral Me’ Toothpaste

So, what's in a name? Few eyebrows were raised as laughter were likewise drawn at the same time as a supermarket sold a certain toothpaste in Malaysia, in whose brand name seemed to be rather suggestive or so they say by some concerned people. The controversial brand name?  Hold your breath, 'Oral-Me.’ The manufacturer of the said product with the notorious name is based in Kulim, Kedah. People who find the name offensive were shock as in the case of Martin Voo, an advertising executive based in Kuala Lumpur who thought the manufacturer in question could have at all understood  the phrase as the brand was coined.  While Kieran Sharkey, an English college teacher said the brand name could be misconstrued as it carries an unlikely and less than positive connotation and worried how the younger generation could connote the same erroneously.   Though he thought the name as odd as it is funny, he calls for manufacturers to give a lot of thought and attention to their product’s name to avoid being a subject of joke.  With all these feedbacks from the buying public, the manufacturer in question cannot be reached for comments.
