I weighed myself today and I went back to my usual 202 pounds. Oh well, I did eat a pack of cookies last night and we ate at Kamay Kainan's buffet last Sunday, so there, the pounds came back! I decided also to eat breakfast today since I knew I would be doing two hours of cardio. I did not want to faint in the GX exercises room!
Well, I don't know if I can still discipline myself from eating the next few days, but at least now, I'm not drinking Coke anymore and I have really limited my sweets intake (except for those cookies!) Today was a killer day since I did Joseph's Body Jam, and then Jury's Body Combat, which was tough since he never pauses - and even if my body was shot already, I still decided to lift some weights - for my chest and back - for about an hour. However, I just did the machines since I knew my body was already tired. I was afraid I might get into an accident if I did the free weights. I did not do too much sit ups today though.
Well, I still spent a little today since I could not help it. I just had to buy Miguel Escueta's CD since I've already done the reviews for both Sugarfree and Taylor Swift's CDs, so it was time to buy a new OPM CD. I did not spend much today, just 100 pesos for the load (US$2.28) and 250 pesos for Miguel Escueta's CD (US$5.71).
So this is where the HBO series True Blood comes from! My friend lent me the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse novels and the series has tried its best to hew as closely to the novel. Well, I guess Alan Ball had to add some interesting characters but as a whole, I think they followed this first installment at around 80% accuracy. Interestingly, I like the TV series more. Usually, I'd prefer the book version. However, the way Alan Ball's team presented this story is far more interesting and alive - and well, scary! These are, after all, about vampires! The book is a quick read though and yes, it has a lot of sex in it, so don't let your kid read it. Or maybe just guide them through those snippets. I think the world envisioned in the book is less dangerous that what I've seen on HBO. On TV, the darkness and the danger of the situations are more palpable. I'm excited to read the second installment, so let's see how it compares to the series. The first book ends in the part where they catch the killer of the waiters and an old lady.
I know it sounds funny but I actually enjoy cleaning the house, at least 2 hours a week, usually on Sundays. Cleaning for me does not actually mean actual polishing or scrubbing, but of purging the lockers and cabinets of stuff that we do not need anymore. I don't want the house to look like a bodega, but a real house! So, since Vic buys stuff from time to time, I've decided to clean it of stuff that is not being used anymore. What I usually leave are things that are of sentimental value to us. That way, the house is spic and span, and does not look like one big warehouse of old stuff!
Well, it's been a week since the new year, and it's time to really make those resolutions work. So for this week, these are the things I'm going to do -
1. Start reading poetry, even for 30 minutes per day. In this case, soon as I get home from the gym. I discovered this poetry book upstairs and I'm interested in reading its poems, slowly, something like a poem a day!
2. Allocate 30 minutes for my French brush-up. Read 2 pages of the dictionary and then watch the French movie, at least for 30 minutes to hear it being spoken. I have been successful in doing my diary in French on an everyday basis.
3. Start to include swimming in my physical regimen this week. I have scheduled it every Wednesday, after my Spanish class. I should arrive in the pool by 5:30PM. I plan to swim for 1 1/2 hours tops and be at Trinoma by 8PM for my date with bhe.
4. On Wednesday, I will ask at Lyric Trinoma about their keyboard lessons. Plan to get one, at least twice a week, at least one hour a day.
5. I have started my Spanish classes next week, so I plan to study it seriously and make sure I'm fluent in it by 2013.
6. Clean every Sunday for 2 hours. I have to make sure my room and the 4th floor is spic and span every week, so I have decided to allocate 2 hours of my Sunday time to cleaning it. That way I can also purge it off things I don't need anymore.
